The Department of GEBT at JUST proudly announces the promotions of three distinguished faculty members, reflecting the department expanding research footprint and commitment to academic leadership.

Under the latest institutional appointments:

• Prof. Dr. Md. Nazmul Hasan has been promoted to the rank of Grade-2 Professor. A prominent researcher in pharmaceutical biotechnology, bioinformatics, and drug discovery, Prof. Hasan leads cutting-edge research in bioinformatics, cellular toxicology, and genomic interventions.
• Dr. Md. Abdur Rauf Sarkar has been promoted to Full Professor, serving as the 6th Professor in the department. His research specialization encompasses plant biotechnology, genetics, and molecular biology.
• Dr. Md. Mashiar Rahman has been promoted to Full Professor, serving as the 7th Professor in the department. Dr. Rahman is a leading researcher specializing in neuroscience, biomedical sciences, and natural product therapeutics.

With these promotions, GEBT now boasts a total of seven full professors, significantly enhancing its post-graduate research direction, institutional capacity, and grant competitiveness.

To mark this accomplishment, the departmental Chairman (Prof. Dr. AM Swaraz), alongside faculty members and office staff, formally felicitated the newly promoted professors with floral bouquets and hosted a celebratory gathering with refreshments for the entire GEBT community.

This milestone reinforces GEBT trajectory as a premier hub for biological sciences and biotechnology research at JUST.
