GEBT General Lab

The General Laboratory of the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (GEBT) at JUST serves as the foundational hub for hands-on learning and core experimental training. Designed to support undergraduate and postgraduate lab courses, this facility is equipped with essential instruments that introduce students to key techniques in molecular biology and biotechnology.

Major equipment includes:

• UV-Visible Spectrophotometer for nucleic acid and protein quantification
• PCR Machine for DNA amplification
• ELISA Reader for immunoassays
• Biosafety Cabinet ensuring sterile and safe handling of biological samples
• Growth Incubator for microbial and cell culture
• Decontamination Chamber for safe disposal and sterilization

Through guided experiments in this lab, students gain practical skills that bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world applications in genetic engineering and biotechnology.
